Farbe kotzen

Aus naheliegenden Gründen muss ich dieses Video der New Yorker Performance-Künstlerin Millie Brown bringen. Anderseits ist das wieder einer der Momente wo sich Kunst mir nicht erschließt. Soll sich Übergeben ästhetisiert werden? Vielleicht als kritischer Kommentar auf Magerwahn und Bulimie?
Millie kotzt auch für Lady Gaga. Gemeinsam mit den klassischen Opernsängerinnen Patricia Hammond und Zita Syme kommt hier also ihr neuestes Projekt: “Nexus Vomitus”.

Millie selbst dazu:

“I drink coloured milk – the process is not painful but after several hours of vomiting it can take its toll, which is why I limit the number of colours I use.

Artists (male as well as female) have always been known to suffer for their art – although this does tax my body to a degree, I feel the end result is worth the process. In fact I often feel elated and purified after a performance. [...] For me, puking colours is both clean and cleansing.”
