So geschehen in Norwegen. Dort kandidierte Fenriz, Drummer der Black-Metal-Legende Darkthrone, für den Nachbarschaftsrat von Kolbotn, einem Vorort von Oslo. Eigentlich wollte er nur nett sein und rechnete gar nicht mit dem Erfolg. Im Interview mit Clrvynt sagt er dazu:
“Basically, they called and asked if I wanted to be on the list […]. I said yeah, thinking I would be like 18th on the list and I wouldn’t really have to do anything. They just need a list to be able to … well, it’s hard to talk local politics in another language. My campaign was a picture of me holding my cat saying, “Please don’t vote for me.” But people just went nuts. After the election, the boss called me and told me I was a representative. I wasn’t too pleased, and I’m not too pleased about it. It’s boring. There’s not a lot of money in that, either, I can tell you!”
Unterschätze niemals die Wirkung einer Katze. Fenriz muss nun vier Jahre im Rat sitzen und sich langweilen. Zumindest wenn er nicht gerade mit Darkthrone was macht.
Ein wenig mag da aber Fenriz, der für Oppegård Venstre – die sozial-liberale Partei Norwegens – antrat, flunkern. Das mit der Katze mag stimmen wie dieser Post zeigt. Aber Fenriz wirbt dort auch für sauberes Trinkwasser, mehr Geld für Bildung und mehr Kunst an Schulen. Klingt nicht so ganz nach “Please don’t vote for me!”
